    Busiest ever Hillhead mining show

Pioneer Pump capped a great start to the year with an outstanding Hillhead mining show in Buxton Derbyshire.

With a huge attendance, much to do with the great weather, Pioneer Pump launched its new sound attenuated 6X4 high pressure mine dewatering pump as well as showing its new 100mm dewatering pumpset and the extreme pressure 4X3 pumpset capable of 215m of head at 90m3/hr.

With almost £200,000 of orders coming from the 3 day event, Pioneer had its best ever Hillhead and thanks all of our mining and quarrying customers that visited the stand over the week.

    Pioneer wins Keegan Quarries order

Pioneer Pump recently won the important order for the first of a number of pumps for Keegan Quarries in Ireland. Quoting against its main UK competitors, Pioneer sold its 100CH open skid mounted set against lower performance pumps from its rivals.

Even though the pumpset from Pioneer was almost 50% more expensive that the others, Pioneer was able to show that the pumpset had three main advanatages over the others including lower running costs, less wear and the ability to pump from multiple locations on the quarries.

After commissioning, it was found that compared to the existing pump from the competiion, the Pioneer pump was able to reduce the pumping time from almost 8 hours per shift to less than an hour saving diesel, and reducing the impact on the environment.

Said Simon Ruffles, GM of Pioneer Pump, 'Once again our competition never really understood the application and attempted to sell the customer a pump that would just about do the existing duty. By fully understanding the application, we have engineered a solution that reduces the customers fuel burn, extends the life of his pumping equipment and overall reduced the cost of pumping on site'.

Pioneer to launch three new pumpsets at BAUMA 2010 including two new small construction pumpsets

THREE NEW PUMPSETS FROM PIONEER PUMP

The range of vacuum-assisted self-priming centrifugal pumps from Pioneer Pump will be further enhanced with the introduction of three new pumpsets to be launched at Bauma 2010.  Pioneer pumps are recognized worldwide for their exceptional performance characteristics in being able to meet customer expectations reliably and efficiently.  The new pumps are designed to meet customer demands of today - high performance, reliability, low running costs and affordability.

The PIONEER 100SL is a brand new sound attenuated, fully-bunded, 100 mm diesel-engine driven portable pumpset for handling flows of up to 240 m³/hr and heads of up to 32 metres with the ability to pass solids up to 76 mm diameter.

The Pioneer 100SL features the new PP44S8 - 100 mm vacuum assisted self-priming pump that benefits from a completely newly designed fluid end, bearing housing and priming chamber.  These features allow the pump to be packaged in a smaller, environmentally friendly, sound attenuated canopy which is small enough to allow two pumps to be carried side by side on a truck without overhang.  This reduces delivery costs for rental companies and end users.  With a sound level of just 63 dB(A), the pumpsets can be used in even the most sensitive of areas.

Designed around customer needs for portability, the 100SL weighs just 1,300 kg; a 125 litre fuel tank provides up to 40 hours unattended operation. This proves invaluable where long run-times are experienced in applications such as wellpointing and by-pass overpumping. Invaluable in applications where flow is intermittent, the pumpset has indefinite run-dry capability.

For reliability, it features a minimum 100,000 B10 bearing life design and a high-efficiency, low NPSHr impeller especially designed to maintain a good suction lift in bypass applications.  For high-efficiency mine dewatering, the pumpset can be specified with a specially designed impeller with 78% efficiency and 50 mm solids handling capability.  The high-efficiency combined with extended running time between refuelling makes for a considerable cost saving.

For more demanding applications, Pioneer Pump is also introducing, to the same family, the PIONEER 150SL for flows of up to 480 m³/hr and heads of up to 42 m with ability to pass 76 mm solids.

The 150SL pump incorporates the improved PP66S10, 150 mm vacuum assisted self priming pump with the same enhanced designed features as the 100SL.  This pumpset features the slightly larger 4-cylinder, Tier III compliant engines from Caterpillar and Perkins.  This more powerful model is still a lightweight unit, weighing approximately 1,550 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 240 litres giving up to 30 hour continuous operation.  Typical sound level is just 63 dB(A)

Both pumpsets come with integrated fork lift pockets under the bunded skid as standard, allowing for ease of relocating using a telehandler on rough terrain.  The units can also be offered as a towable trailer pumpset.

The Pioneer 100SL and Pioneer 150SL, together with the two existing models, 100SM and 100SH, allows for optimized pumping up to 400 m³/hr at heads of over 100 m while still being able to pass 76 mm solids.

This Pioneer Pump series is for a wide range of applications such as dewatering in the construction, quarrying, mining and mineral processing industries as well as for utility applications such as flood disaster relief, flood management and bypass pumping applications.  There are also many industrial applications.

The PIONEER 80CX is yet another new pump benefiting from the innovative design process.  This pumpset has been configured especially for cost-efficient mining and the highest pressure applications.  The 80CX is a sound attenuated, fully bunded or open skid mounted 80 mm engine driven portable pumpset capable of flows up to 120m³/hr and heads of over 200 meters making it ideal for applications such as open cast mining and industrial jetting.

At the heart of the 80CX pump is the brand new PP43C21, 80 mm vacuum assisted self priming pump which is powered by the latest Tier III emission compliant Perkins or CAT 6 cylinder engine through its standard SAE 2 housing eliminating the need for complicated shaft alignment.

The Pioneer 80CX has an operating weight of 3,000 kg and a 12-hour run tank.  It has full indefinite run-dry capability, a 100,000 B10 bearing life and a high efficiency, low NPSHr, impeller design for good suction lift capability.  Sound level is a low 70 dB(A) on the canopy unit.

This 80CX pumpset is the smallest of a range of 525 mm impeller diameter pumps capable of heads over 200 m.  The pumpset is  also available as a 6x4 100CX and the 150CX in 8x6 configuration using the 596 kW (800 HP) Cat C27ACERT engine at speeds up to 2000 rpm for generating flows of in excess of 600 m³/hr making it the highest performing self-priming pump currently in the world (as far as Pioneer pump is aware).

Pioneer launches new 8X6 extreme pressure pump for mining and industrial market

Pioneer Pump one of the world leaders in mine dewatering pumps, is pleased to announce the launch of its new range of extreme pressure pumps with the immediate availability of the new 8X6 pump.

Capable of flows up to 800m3/hr and pressures of up to 200m the new pump adds to the already high performance extreme pressure pumps used by major mining companies around the world.

Designed to be powered by engines and motors up to 700HP, the pump comes with the legendary Pioneer rugged build quality which includes Ductile Iron construction, CA6NM impellers as well as hardened 17-4PH stainless steel shafts for longer life in arduous conditions seen in the mines.

Simon Ruffles, GM for Pioneer Pump, said, ' The new 8X6 fills the hole we had in pressures over 150m. With this new pump we can dewater a mine that is 600 feet deep at over 1500gpm and yet have a 20 foot lift from with water source meaning a lot less down time for the mines.'

Pioneer Pump in the UK already have sold units into the oilfield for high pressure applications where an emergency need for a pump in the North Sea saw Pioneer mobilise and have a pump on the dockside on Christmas eve 12 hours after first receiving the call.

For further information on the new range of pumps, contact Pioneer Pump at their UK operations.
